Child Safety and Well-being Information Sharing Consultation

Introduction

The following questions are designed to capture insights and responses to Nous Group's consultation paper on improvements to the legislative regime for information sharing in a child safety and wellbeing context.

The Victorian government is committed to keeping children and young people safe. One of the critical factors for effective child safety and wellbeing services is the sharing of information. Organisations involved in child safety and wellbeing activities require information to help them make decisions regarding interventions to protect the interests of children.

Victoria’s current legislative frameworks for information sharing in a child safety and wellbeing context could be improved. This would help to address issues of complexity, silo-isation, narrow circumstances for sharing and a lack of systematic sharing of information.

Your responses to the following questions will help to inform the design of a new legislative regime for information sharing in a child safety and wellbeing context, structured to address these challenges.
